Peter Lion had been inclined towards writing from a very young age. Throughout his growing up years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote numerous short stories. His talent within this field was further honed when after enrolling in the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he soon began contributing to the students school newspaper.
He set out to make a career of his passion with the words first by getting a degree in Journalism from the Southern Connecticut State University. He published his first magazine article inside the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.
He entered to the television business before he’d finished his college. A couple of months before graduation, Peter Lion took up a job with WTNH-TV as part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate of the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, had no knowledge of this field grabbed this opportunity to gain an entry and also to create a foothold in the news and tv industry.
He learned the ropes quickly, comprehending the technicalities of the workings of a television network and continued to be a part of the channel for more than a time period of two years.
He then transferred to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He worked on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. However, his wish to be in television and his passion for writing pulled him back to his home state as a part of a small television station start-up.
He signed up with this team to be a director as well as a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, that was to become the first in the state. He grabbed this chance of showcasing his talent and knowledge as in his stint in Boston he has had the capacity of working together with several accomplished directors. He used this understanding to develop the show from the beginning.
Peter Lion relocated to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing a couple of years in this start-up. As part of his stint with this television network, he exploited the many elements of his talent and worked as a weather anchor, announcer, news producer, feature producer and director. It had been during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled The American St. Nick”.
He then moved back to Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still an integral part of ESPN, he is responsible for a variety of their shows such as Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft in his position within the organization as a Director. His primary show however, remains, College Gameday.
He has been a 2 time winner in the Emmy awards, even though he’s been nominated many times for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work with Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.
Besides working, Peter Lion is presently focusing on his 2nd book. He is additionally a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is its lead singer and guitarist
